Meet the team that runs Gardenworks Tree Surgery Ltd
It is because of the hard work and dedication of the people behind Gardenworks Tree Surgery Ltd, that the company has risen to become one of the most respected tree services companies in the whole of Cambridge and its surrounding areas.
Michael Downs, Director & Principal Arborist
Michael began trading as a gardening contractor in 1993 and began formal training as an arborist in 1994. He has now built up a wealth of experience and qualifications in arboriculture. He sits on the committee of the East Anglian branch of the Arboricultural Association and contributes to the Arborist Working Group committed to improving the standards of arboricultural practices across the country. He can often be heard on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire whenever they require a comment about local tree problems. He continues to maintain his development in arboriculture, keeping up to date in modern practices and the host of pests and diseases affecting our amenity trees.
Shaun Ferreday, Arboricultural Manager & Senior Climber
Shaun has been working with trees for over twenty years, here in the Cambridge area and in Nottingham. He has also worked abroad as far afield as Australia. His wide range of practical skills have been complemented by his completion of a Foundation Degree in Arboriculture from Myerscough College. He is developing his management role within the company and has achieved the IOSH qualification as part of his continual professional development.

George started and continues his career in our company. He has come a long way in the last six years and has passed all the relevant climbing qualifications currently available as well as numerous supporting roles on the ground. He now continues to gain valuable experience working with the team and will have a promising career in arboriculture.
